Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is an important aspect of ministry to parishioners, carried out mainly by lay members in the various congregations. While pastoral care is multi-faceted, its primary aim is to provide care, support and prayer for those in physical, emotional and spiritual need.

The Parish of Mooi River has a Pastoral Care Team made up of a dedicated group of lay parish members, who aim to provide practical support to those housebound by illness, surgery or age. Other assistance includes helping with light shopping; offering lifts; providing meals to people who are sick or experiencing anxiety or bereavement; offering Holy Communion at home; and generally being a friendly and willing listener.
